Day 4 — The Blood that founded the Church

Reading

«The Holy Spirit has made you overseers to shepherd the Church of God, which he obtained with his own Blood» (Acts 20:28). We are all the Church for which Christ shed his Blood. Can I be indifferent to her? Can I see her truth despised and do nothing? If I do not work for the Church, I betray the Blood by which Christ acquired her.

Prayer of the Day

Lord Jesus Christ, make me live in your Church, your Bride whom you acquired with your Blood. May I work for her, live in her, and be saved in her. You who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.

Opening Prayer (for all days)

Christ Jesus, Lamb of God, who has saved us by your Blood, we praise you, we bless you, we adore you, and we give you heartfelt thanks. By the merits of your Most Precious Blood, I ask for the salvation of all who have washed themselves in it. Grant me the special grace I desire in this novena, if it be for your greater glory and the good of my soul. Amen.
