Day 7 — Prayer
Meditation
Whoever prays as God is pleased receives the graces he needs. Saint Expeditus, before appearing before the tribunal, spent long hours in prayer: from conversing with God he drew the strength to confess his faith. Persevering prayer does not change God's will, but disposes the soul to receive and fulfill it.
Prayer of the Day
O glorious martyr Saint Expeditus, by the many graces you grant to those who invoke you with devotion, help me to pray as God is pleased, that I may receive the graces I need. You who spent long hours in prayer, teach me to seek God in silence and perseverance. Amen.
(Here make the particular petition.)
Final Prayer (for all days)
O Jesus Christ, protect us today and always, but especially today. O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you. Saint Expeditus, glorious martyr and patron of just and urgent causes, pray for us.
(Three Our Fathers, three Hail Marys, and three Glorias, in honor of the Most Holy Trinity.)
