Day 4 — Solidarity with the poor

Reading

Saint Cajetan fasted so that the money saved could be used to buy food for the poor, and he accepted no payment for his ministries because he wanted people to help the needy. He lived frugally to teach the rich the need to share. Inspired by him, may we share so that no one goes hungry and all may live with dignity.

Prayer of the Day

Saint Cajetan, who taught through your life the value of charity, inspire us to share our goods so that no one among us goes hungry. Teach us to live with simplicity and solidarity. Amen.

O glorious Saint Cajetan, you who were a model of virtue among priests and who, trusting in divine Providence, gave the bread of your table to the needy, carry our petitions to Jesus. Obtain for us from the Lord the grace to use temporal goods in such a way that we may not lose the eternal goods of glory. Through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
