Day 3 — Fatima: the Angel of Peace
Meditation
Before the Virgin's apparitions, the Angel of Peace appeared three times to the children Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco (1916) and taught them to adore the Most Blessed Sacrament, to make reparation for the offenses of sinners, and to pray: "My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love you; I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love you." Fatima begins not with Mary but with the adoration that prepares the heart.
Prayer of the Day
My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love you; I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love you. Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore you profoundly and I offer you the most precious Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the earth, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifference by which he himself is offended. Amen.
Prayer to the Immaculate Heart of Mary (for all days)
O Mary, worthy Mother of God and tender Mother of ours, who appearing at Fatima have shown us in your Heart a most sure refuge and in your Rosary a victorious weapon against the enemy of our souls, grant that loving you with filial love I may here find and enjoy the life of grace, and afterward the life of glory. O sweet Heart of Mary, be my salvation.
(Five Hail Marys to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.)
