When the sacred Order of Carmel was threatened with extinction, the Virgin showed her love and special predilection by which she protects them, commanding Pope Honorius III to confirm their institute. She defends her children from all enemies of soul and body.

Prayer of the Day

O Virgin of Carmel! I beg you, Lady, to defend me from all my enemies of soul and body, so that with quiet and peace I may always live in the holy service of God and yours. Amen.

Most Holy Virgin of Carmel, I desire that all may take shelter under the protecting shadow of your holy Scapular. O beauty of Carmel! Look upon us kneeling before your sacred image and grant us your loving protection. I commend to you the needs of the Pope, the Church, my nation, and the whole world. Look with compassion upon sinners, heretics, and unbelievers. May all be converted and love you, my Mother, as I wish to love you now and for all eternity. Amen.
