Day 9 — I am the Immaculate Conception
Meditation
On March 25, 1858, the Lady answered Bernadette: «Que soy era Immaculada Councepciou» — «I am the Immaculate Conception.» Barely four years after the proclamation of the dogma by Pius IX, the Virgin confirmed from heaven this truth of faith. Mary is full of grace, preserved from original sin from the first moment of her conception.
Prayer of the Day
O glorious Mother of God, as we conclude this novena we ask you for the grace of a happy death. O Mother of my Lord, by the love you have for Jesus Christ, hear our prayers and grant our petitions. O Immaculate Mary, pray for us who have recourse to you. Amen.
Opening Prayer (for all days)
Blessed are you, O Purest Virgin, for having deigned to manifest yourself, radiant with life, sweetness, and beauty, in the Grotto of Lourdes, saying to Saint Bernadette: «I am the Immaculate Conception.» O Immaculate Virgin, Mother of mercy, Health of the sick, Refuge of sinners, Comfort of the afflicted, you know our needs; deign to cast upon us a merciful glance. We come with immense confidence to implore your maternal intercession. Obtain for us, O loving Mother, the fulfillment of our petition. Amen.
(Three Hail Marys and a Glory Be).
