Day 2 — Truth triumphs in Bernadette

Bernadette, a poor and sickly girl, was subjected to intense interrogations by civil and ecclesiastical authorities. But her testimony never wavered. The simplicity of her heart pleased the Queen of Heaven. The truth of the apparitions prevailed through the humility and constancy of an innocent child.

Prayer of the Day

O Immaculate Mary, inflame our hearts with a ray of the burning love of your pure Heart. May they be consumed with love for Jesus and for you, so that we may one day merit to enjoy your glorious eternity. Amen.

Blessed are you, O Purest Virgin, for having deigned to manifest yourself, radiant with life, sweetness, and beauty, in the Grotto of Lourdes, saying to Saint Bernadette: «I am the Immaculate Conception.» O Immaculate Virgin, Mother of mercy, Health of the sick, Refuge of sinners, Comfort of the afflicted, you know our needs; deign to cast upon us a merciful glance. We come with immense confidence to implore your maternal intercession. Obtain for us, O loving Mother, the fulfillment of our petition. Amen.
