Day 8 — Saint Rita, model of forgiveness

Reading

Saint Rita forgave her husband's murderers and asked her sons to renounce vengeance. Forgiveness was the most heroic act of her life. She teaches us that to forgive is not weakness but the highest expression of Christian strength.

Prayer of the Day

Saint Rita, who forgave your husband's murderers, grant me the grace to forgive those who have offended me. Free my heart from resentment and fill it with the peace of Christ. Amen.

Final Prayer (for all days)

O glorious Saint Rita, who knew how to accept in love the hardest trials of life and who always found in God the strength to go forward, intercede for me before the Lord. You who are the advocate of impossible causes, present my cause before the throne of God and obtain for me the grace I ask, if it be in conformity with the divine will. May your example of faith, patience, and forgiveness inspire me to live as a true Christian. Amen.
