Day 3 — Saint Rita, sorrowful mother

Reading

Saint Rita lost her two sons and offered her sorrow to God. Before dying, she asked God to take them rather than let them fall into grave sin. Her motherhood extended beyond the earthly: she offered her children to God with heroic faith.

Prayer of the Day

Saint Rita, sorrowful mother, comfort all mothers who suffer for their children. Intercede that our children may live in God's grace and attain eternal salvation. Amen.

Final Prayer (for all days)

O glorious Saint Rita, who knew how to accept in love the hardest trials of life and who always found in God the strength to go forward, intercede for me before the Lord. You who are the advocate of impossible causes, present my cause before the throne of God and obtain for me the grace I ask, if it be in conformity with the divine will. May your example of faith, patience, and forgiveness inspire me to live as a true Christian. Amen.
