Day 5 — Champion in the spiritual battle

Reading

"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness" (Ephesians 6:11-12). The Christian life is a battle: Saint Michael is our model and leader in the spiritual combat.

Prayer of the Day

Saint Michael the Archangel, champion in the spiritual battle, clothe me with the armor of God: truth as belt, justice as breastplate, the Gospel as shoes, faith as shield, and the word of God as the sword of the Spirit. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel (for all days)

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.
