Day 2 — Conqueror of Satan

Reading

"Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they were defeated... And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan" (Revelation 12:7-9). Saint Michael is the conqueror of the devil: by the cross of Christ he defeats the evil one.

Prayer of the Day

Saint Michael the Archangel, conqueror of Satan, help me to resist his temptations and to yield no ground to evil. With your sword of light, defend my soul from every snare of the enemy. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel (for all days)

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.
