Day 1 — Prince of the heavenly host
Reading
"At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people" (Daniel 12:1). Scripture calls Michael "one of the chief princes" (Daniel 10:13). As head of the faithful angels, he leads the heavenly host that serves and praises God without ceasing. His name, "Who is like God?", is a cry of fidelity and adoration.
Prayer of the Day
Glorious Saint Michael the Archangel, prince of the heavenly host, I acknowledge in you the leader of the faithful angels. Teach me to make my life repeat the cry "Who is like God?", placing God above all and above everyone. Amen.
Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel (for all days)
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.
(Our Father, Hail Mary, and Gloria).
