Day 6 — Saint Jude, martyr of Christ

Saint Jude Thaddeus died a martyr in Persia together with the apostle Simon. According to tradition, he was martyred with a club and an axe. He sealed with his blood the faith he had preached, showing that he loved Christ more than his own life.

Prayer of the Day

Saint Jude Thaddeus, glorious martyr, give me the strength to be faithful to Christ at every moment, even when following him entails sacrifice and suffering. Amen.

O glorious apostle Saint Jude Thaddeus, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you as patron of difficult and desperate cases. Pray for me, who am so miserable. I beg you, make use of that special privilege granted to you to bring visible and speedy help when almost all hope is lost. Come to my aid in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and help of heaven in all my tribulations and anguish. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
