Day 6 — Defender of justice
Reading
Humble Saint Cajetan spoke with rulers and kings but never paid them much regard. He knew that prestige, honor, and social positions are good only if used to help the needy. This is why he also confronted tyrants and opposed armies that looted, killed, and violated. His humility did not keep him from being a prophet: he feared only Jesus.
Prayer of the Day
Saint Cajetan, defender of justice, help us to remain humble and to fight for truth. Inspire us to combat corruption and to defend the most needy with the strength of the Gospel. Amen.
Final Prayer (for all days)
O glorious Saint Cajetan, you who were a model of virtue among priests and who, trusting in divine Providence, gave the bread of your table to the needy, carry our petitions to Jesus. Obtain for us from the Lord the grace to use temporal goods in such a way that we may not lose the eternal goods of glory. Through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
(Our Father, Hail Mary, and Gloria).
