Day 8 — Blessing on homes and priests

Ninth and tenth promises: "I will bless every house in which the image of my Sacred Heart is exposed and honored" and "I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts." Devotion to the Sacred Heart spreads its blessing from the soul to the home, and from the home to ministry. Honoring his image is a public profession of belonging; preaching his love is an effective instrument of conversion.

Prayer of the Day

Heart of Jesus, bless this home in which we honor you, and grant your priests the grace to move with their words the hardest hearts. May this image remind us day by day of your love and of our debt of love. Amen.

Offering to the Sacred Heart of Jesus (for all days)

O most loving Heart of Jesus! I offer you my prayers, my works, and my sufferings, those of this day and all the days of my life, to do all that pleases you, to repair the offenses committed against you, and to beg for the conversion of sinners. Join them to the infinite merits of your Passion, that they may reach the heavenly Father and lift up supplications for the whole world. Heart of Jesus, I trust in you.
