Day 7 — Perfection of the fervent

Meditation

Eighth promise: "Fervent souls will quickly rise to great perfection." It is not enough to avoid sin: love wills to grow. The Heart of Jesus trains fervent souls, purifies them with his fire, and leads them along the high road of the Saints. Christian perfection is not human heroism, but a surrender that lets itself be transformed by the love of Christ.

Prayer of the Day

Heart of Jesus, model of every holiness, grant me the fervent desire to grow in love. Let me not be content with avoiding evil, but seek your good with my whole heart. Lead me along the way of the saints, upheld by your grace. Amen.

Offering to the Sacred Heart of Jesus (for all days)

O most loving Heart of Jesus! I offer you my prayers, my works, and my sufferings, those of this day and all the days of my life, to do all that pleases you, to repair the offenses committed against you, and to beg for the conversion of sinners. Join them to the infinite merits of your Passion, that they may reach the heavenly Father and lift up supplications for the whole world. Heart of Jesus, I trust in you.
