Day 5 — The five First Saturdays

Meditation

On December 10, 1925, at Pontevedra, the Virgin appeared to Sister Lucia with the Child Jesus and asked for the reparative devotion of the five First Saturdays: confession, Communion, the Rosary, and meditation on its mysteries for fifteen minutes, with the intention of making reparation for the offenses against her Immaculate Heart. The five Saturdays answer to the five kinds of offenses against her Heart. It is a devotion of consolation and reparation.

Prayer of the Day

Immaculate Heart of Mary, I console you on this First Saturday for the blasphemies, sacrileges, and ingratitude by which your Heart is offended. Accept my Communion, my Rosary, and my meditation as an act of filial reparation. In your Heart let me find the grace of perseverance. Amen.

Prayer to the Immaculate Heart of Mary (for all days)

O Mary, worthy Mother of God and tender Mother of ours, who appearing at Fatima have shown us in your Heart a most sure refuge and in your Rosary a victorious weapon against the enemy of our souls, grant that loving you with filial love I may here find and enjoy the life of grace, and afterward the life of glory. O sweet Heart of Mary, be my salvation.
