Day 6 — The Gift of Piety
Antiphon
You, best of all consolers, sweet visitor of the troubled heart, come with the grace of peaceful rest.
Meditation on the Gift of Piety
The gift of Piety arouses in our hearts a filial affection for God as our most loving Father. By love of him it inspires us to love and respect persons and things consecrated to him, as well as those invested with his authority: his Most Holy Mother and the Saints, the Church and her visible head, our parents and superiors, our country and its rulers. One filled with the gift of Piety does not find the practice of religion a heavy duty but a delightful service. Where there is love, there is no toil.
Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Come, O blessed Spirit of Piety, possess my heart. Enkindle within me such love for God that I find satisfaction only in his service, and for love of him lovingly submit to all legitimate authority. Amen.
Act of Consecration to the Holy Spirit (for all days)
Receive, O Holy Spirit, the absolute consecration of all my being, which I make to You this day, that You may henceforth be, in every instant of my life, in each of my actions, my Director, my Light, my Guide, my Strength, and all the love of my Heart.
I abandon myself without reserve to your divine operations, and I desire ever to be docile to your holy inspirations.
O Holy Spirit! Deign to form me with Mary and in Mary, after the model of your beloved Jesus.
Glory to the Father Creator. Glory to the Son Redeemer. Glory to the Holy Spirit the Sanctifier. Amen.
(Our Father, Hail Mary, and Gloria).
