Definition
Meditation (bhavana) is the heart of Buddhist practice. It is the training of the mind to develop attention, clarity, wisdom, and compassion.
The Two Main Types
Samatha (Calm)
Cultivates meditative concentration.
Vipassana (Clear Vision)
Cultivates wisdom.
The Main Techniques
Anapanasati
The most basic practice. Observing natural breath.
Vipassana

Metta Bhavana
