Saint Rita endured for years a difficult marriage with a violent husband, answering him always with patience and love. Her example teaches us that Christian patience is not passive resignation but an active love that transforms the most difficult situations.

Prayer of the Day

Saint Rita, model of patience, intercede for me that I may learn to bear life's hardships in love. Grant me the grace to respond to evil with good. Amen.

O glorious Saint Rita, who knew how to accept in love the hardest trials of life and who always found in God the strength to go forward, intercede for me before the Lord. You who are the advocate of impossible causes, present my cause before the throne of God and obtain for me the grace I ask, if it be in conformity with the divine will. May your example of faith, patience, and forgiveness inspire me to live as a true Christian. Amen.
