Day 1 — Saint Jude, faithful apostle

Saint Jude Thaddeus was one of the twelve apostles chosen by Jesus. Although sharing his name with the betrayer Judas Iscariot, he was a faithful disciple even unto martyrdom. His example teaches us that fidelity to Christ is possible even in the most adverse circumstances.

Prayer of the Day

Saint Jude Thaddeus, faithful apostle of Christ, intercede for me before the Lord. In difficult and desperate causes, I turn to your powerful intercession with full confidence. Amen.

O glorious apostle Saint Jude Thaddeus, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you as patron of difficult and desperate cases. Pray for me, who am so miserable. I beg you, make use of that special privilege granted to you to bring visible and speedy help when almost all hope is lost. Come to my aid in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and help of heaven in all my tribulations and anguish. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
