Day 5 — Saint Joseph, protector of the Holy Family

Reading

Saint Joseph protected Jesus and Mary from danger, especially from Herod's persecution. In the flight to Egypt he showed courage, prudence, and trust in God. As he protected the Holy Family, so today he protects the Church and every Christian family.

Prayer of the Day

Saint Joseph, protector of the Holy Family, protect my family from every evil and danger. Be our defender against the threats of the world and guide us along paths of peace. Amen.

Final Prayer (for all days)

Glorious patriarch Saint Joseph, whose power reaches what is impossible to men, come to my aid in these moments of anguish and difficulty. Take under your protection the grave and difficult situations I entrust to you, that they may have a happy solution. My beloved Father, all my confidence is placed in you. Let it never be said that I have invoked you in vain. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
