Day 2 — Graces for one's state in life

Meditation

First of the twelve promises: "They will receive all the graces necessary for their state in life." God never calls without giving what is needed to answer. Lay or religious, married or celibate, the Sacred Heart promises the concrete helps that each vocation requires: light in decisions, strength in trials, patience in the everyday. Whoever entrusts his duties to the Heart of Jesus discovers that nothing is small in his eyes.

Prayer of the Day

Heart of Jesus, fountain of every grace, grant me the aids my state in life requires. In my daily duties may I find your strength, in my decisions your light, and in your will the peace the world cannot give. Amen.

Offering to the Sacred Heart of Jesus (for all days)

O most loving Heart of Jesus! I offer you my prayers, my works, and my sufferings, those of this day and all the days of my life, to do all that pleases you, to repair the offenses committed against you, and to beg for the conversion of sinners. Join them to the infinite merits of your Passion, that they may reach the heavenly Father and lift up supplications for the whole world. Heart of Jesus, I trust in you.
